About The Justice Map

What we are doing

Australia is facing a crisis of mass incarceration, over-policing and over-criminalisation. In a weakened democracy, grappling with  inequality, climate change, and a pandemic, this crisis can only worsen if we do not change course.

Philanthropists, organisations and community members are recognising the need to act urgently. They want to scale up efforts to shift the public conversation and build the political pressure that will reverse current trends. Momentum is building. But a critical first step is to understand the current landscape, so that current resources can be maximised and coordinated, and new resources and efforts focused strategically where they are needed.

Where The Justice Map comes in.

Led by See Your Change, and supported by the Legal Services Board of Victoria, Flemington Kensington Legal Centre, and Koondee Woonga-gat Toor-rong The Justice Map is a research and consultation project that will lead to the design of new  advocacy initiatives. We are comprehensively mapping the criminal justice advocacy landscape to find out what is working, what is missing, and what needs to be done.
