Lucia is living and working in Melbourne (Naarm), on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri people. She is an undergraduate student at the University of Melbourne, currently majoring in a double degree of Politics & International Studies and Criminology. In the past two years, she has worked under the Victorian Greens and volunteered for independent, political activist groups on issues of environmental justice and human rights. During this time, Lucia has developed a strong passion for politics and social justice. In particular, she has become very motivated to contribute to fixing the detrimentally of the criminal justice system and contemporary punitive practices that affect vulnerable people in Australia and overseas – especially Indigenous populations. Contributing to the project with detailed research, Lucia hopes to find a career in criminal justice advocacy or environmental law.
